Modified Wheelchair
This device is an electric wheelchair modified to carry a rotating, reclining seat. It was designed to carry an extra 12 volt battery to power a converter (12V - 120V) which in turn powers a ventilator and suction machine. Each battery has an independent charging device. The patient can drive the wheelchair with a joy stick.

Sky Hook
The boom above the day bed allows toys to be suspended anywhere over the bed.

Portable Shower on Wheels
The shower is used adjacent to the kitchen sink and attaches to the faucets similar to a portable dishwasher. The unit drains into the sink. This method allows the caregivers to work with the patient in an upright standing position.
|
Rocking Bed Frame
The physician recommended the rocking motion to alleviate fluid build up in the patient's lungs. The rocking motion also has a therapeutic effect on the muscles and skin. This device runs continuously at variable cycle speeds of one minute to one hour to rock fully from one side to the other. One simple rotating switch turns the device on as well as setting the speed.

Overhead Canopy Frame
A suspension frame is suspended above the bed similar to a canopy bed. It is strong enough to hang toys, mirrors, rotating motors, or even a TV receiver. The suspension frame can be attached to the bed or be sized slightly longer than the bed to be independent. This item is designed for children who cannot move and are locked into a side position or ceiling looking position.

Interactive Rotating Chair
The rotating chair is controlled by the child with a single button when activated. The chair will rotate from left to right. From 10 degrees to 360 degrees or more. If a child cannot move, this is one way for them to see who has entered a room if they cannot face the door. An automobile bucket seat with a seat back that can be set at any angle is used for the child to sit or recline in. A slip clutch is built into the base of the unit in case another child or obstruction should get in the way of the rotating chair. This chair is a powerful interactive device that excites children who have few options to move their own bodies.

Indoor Swing
The therapist specified a swing to provide sensory stimulation with good support.

See-Through Bottom Activity Box
The see-through box rolls under a bed similar to a hospital tray, but can be safely placed over the patient's filed of vision. The see-through bottom is made of glass for clarity but covered on the bottom with unbreakable plexiglass for safety. The child looks up through the see-through bottom. This item solves the problem of children who cannot look down onto a floor at toys or other items. The portion of the device that is under the bed doubles as a 24" x 36" x 8" high toy box for storing items of interest. The activity box can be constructed of oak or other wood to match the furniture in the child's room.
